I AM SO OVER THE MOON!!
Honestly I had no idea how reader were going to take the new Maisie Doss Mystery Series.
It’s not a cozy but it’s not a true thriller so I’m not sure how I was going to classify it. All I knew was over a year ago Maisie entered my head and she didn’t leave. It was so crazy that I immediately messaged my cover artist, Mariah, and told her what I had in my head and begged for an opening in her schedule.
Literally she nailed the first three covers in the series the first try and these covers have been sitting in my email for a year.
I had gone back and forth on whether to write Maisie into existence, tabling the project for months. Finally in the fall of 2023 I woke up and started writing Sleight of Hand immediately. Maisie poured out of me and I was very pleased with how it had turned out.
Now…how I feel about something is entirely different than how a reader feels about it but one thing I do know – I was proud of writing this book and moving outside of my comfort zone to write in a book that doesn’t even fit into any genre I know or have read but it’s Maisie’s genre!
And without further ado….the early five star reviews are even better than I could’ve ever imagined!!!!
