Sheriff Spencer Shepard pushed himself upright again.
“That’s when I’m smart enough to say to myself, Spencer, Roxanne Bloom just isn’t disciplined enough to keep her nose out of it, so why go through the hassle of telling her to stop snooping when you can use her kinda like a hound dog.”
“Spencer Shepard, is that your gentlemanly way of asking me to help you? Even though Spencer was the law, it was an elected position.
“You and I both know that if you make one wrong move in this job, that you won’t have a job.” I did like to remind him of how it was the citizens that he was wrongfully accusing that did give him the shiny five star badge on his collar.
